Will you come and meet us?

We welcome all our guests to make sure everything’s as you expected.

What if something isn't quite as we'd expected?

We want everything about your stay to be perfect. If something isn’t as you expected, or something is missing, tell us straight away and we’ll do everything we can to put it right. 

Are there any supplies in The Smithy?

The Smithy is stocked with lots of essentials: Tea, coffee, instant coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, and cooking oil. Bread, butter and milk. We also supply fluffy towels and robes and bed linen, plus toilet rolls, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and washing powder. You can order food in advance so it’s ready in The Smithy when you arrive (please order at least three days in advance, so we can source everything from our favourite local producers).

Where do I get the key?

You call at the main house where Helen or Jim will Welcome you, If you plan to arrive later than 9pm, please let us know in advance (12 noon on the day you arrive at the latest).

How do we get to The Smithy?

We are in Largoward village on the St Andrews Road, easily found using Sat Nav.

What time is check-out – and where should we leave the key?

Check out is before 11 am the keys can be handed back to Helen and Jim at the main house.

What time can we check in?

Check in is 4pm. If you’d like to arrive earlier and haven’t opted for early check-in, give us a call the day before – we can sometimes have The Smithy ready a little ahead of schedule.

Why didn’t I get a confirmation email?

We send out email confirmations to all guests –if you don’t get one, give us a call as soon as you can. It’s usually caused by nothing more than a mistyped email address, but on rare occasions, it can mean that we haven’t received your booking.

Can I get to The Smithy by public transport.

The nearest train station is Dundee which is a short bus trip away from St Andrews. Please get in touch and we can advise on the best route for you.
